Eurasian Coalition on Male Health (ECOM) is soliciting proposals from individual consultants to write a public statements on actuality  about HIV epidemics among MSM and trans* in Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Russian Federation 

Background

Eurasian Coalition on Male Health is an international non-governmental association, located in Tallinn, Estonia. We are a membership-based association, open for non-profits and individuals, acting in the field of sexual health, including HIV issues, for men who have sex with men and trans* people, in the region of Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia (CEECA).

Mission

We aim to create favorable conditions to ensure that men who have sexual relations with other men and transgender people have access to services in the field of sexual and reproductive health, mainly to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support, based on respect for their human rights.

Description of Services required and Timelines

ECOM is seeking expert assistance to prepare data about HIV epidemics among MSM and to write a public statements on actuality of this issue in following countries: Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Russian Federation.

The consultants will (a) summarize existing literature; (b) write a draft (English and Russian) of the statement based on http://ecom.ngo/library/kratkaya-spravka-o-vich-sredi-msm-v-e-stonii/

Each draft statement should be finished before 15 May 2018.

The consultant would be requested to work in close collaboration with ECOM staff, specifically the Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator and Communications Officer to perform the services.

Consultant Qualifications

Essential

  • At least Master’s degree in Social Sciences, preferably in Sociology
  • At least 5 years’ experience as an analyst/consultant in social research
  • Experience of social research in public health
  • Experience of LGBT topics research in one or more CEECA countries
  • Effective communication skills in Russian and English, as well as at least one other language of CEECA countries

Desirable

  • PhD degree or its equivalent in Social Sciences, preferably in Sociology
  • Previous working experience with NGOs is an advantage as well

This consultancy is a maximum of 5 working days per one country and will be awarded to the her or him that offers a proposal that demonstrates the experience to meet the organization’s needs at a competitive rate and timeline.
