Vitaly has been involved in the HIV response for almost 20 years, with a focus on the most affected populations in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA). He has extensive experience in program management, strategic planning, and HIV and human rights advocacy.
Vitaly holds a Masters of International Health from the University of Copenhagen.
Elena has worked for more than 15 years in the field of HIV services. Her professional experience includes the organization and provision of technical support on various aspects of HIV prevention, such as trainings, the development of individual preventative interventions and country-specific packages of services for MSM, as well as the provision of technical assistance to MSM-service and LGBT organizations in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, and Moldova.
Director of Finances and Administration
Iurii has more than 8 years of experience in the non-profit financial management. He is an expert in budgeting, donor reporting, development of financial policies and procedures, management accounting, organizational activities analysis and other financial aspects of non-governmental organizations’ work.
He has experience working with several international organizations, including the Global Fund, USAID, CDC, Alliance UK, Elton John AIDS Foundation, Yale University etc.
Community Health Systems Coordinator
Gennady has been involved in the response to the HIV epidemic in Eastern Europe and Central Asia since 1991. He has considerable experience in providing technical support to and developing the capacity of NGOs and affected communities. In addition, Gennady has significant expertise in preparing and conducting trainings on various aspects of HIV and STI prevention, social support, and on the monitoring and evaluation of social projects and initiatives.
Human Rights and Legal Issues Officer
Yuri holds responsibility for activities that support and strengthen the enabling environments for HIV services for MSM and trans people in the EECA region by means of combating stigma and discrimination, promoting and protecting human rights and removing legal and policy barriers.
Yuri is involved with HIV response in Ukraine from 2013 onward. As program director of “Gay Alliance Ukraine”, Yuri was responsible for several projects related to protection of LGBT rights, and increasing public awareness of fundamental rights. In 2015, Yuri joined the organizing committee of the annual National Conference of LGBT-Movement and MSM-service of Ukraine.
He is an expert on intersex and trans issues, as well as a certified trainer on tolerance and non-discrimination.
Paata founded Georgia’s first-ever LGBT organization, and worked with a range of organizations in the areas of harm reduction, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, and STIs. He was involved in several regional and international networks and also served as a board member at ILGA-Europe. He also had been a member of Georgia’s Country Coordinating Mechanism.
Paata has led nationwide advocacy campaigns and holds two masters degrees from Central European University (Budapest, Hungary), and Tbilisi State University (Georgia).).
Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator
Maxim holds PhD and has extensive academic experience and has established himself as a high-level expert on MSM, LGBT, HIV/AIDS and human rights issues in Ukraine and other countries of the EECA region.
Technical Support and Sub-recipients Coordinator
As a medical doctor with Master of Public Health degree from the State University of New York, since 2006 Sona has been involved in HIV prevention programs for key populations (MSM, PUD, sex workers) in Armenia with various international organizations. Main areas of her professional expertise include capacity building and technical support of sub-recipient NGOs, as well as monitoring and evaluation HIV prevention projects.
Alexandr has been involved in the response to the HIV epidemic in Eastern Europe and Central Asia for more than 12 years. He has experience in public relations in national and international organizations working with different populations on HIV and human rights issues. Had been a leader of an LGBT organization in Belarus.
Erika is actively involved in empowerment of vulnerable communities in EECA. She has professional experience with monitoring and evaluation and project implementation both in large international NGOs and smaller locally-oriented organisations. Erika is currently finalising her Master’s studies in Global Development at the University of Copenhagen.
