An accurate estimation of the population size of men who have sex with men (MSM) is critical to the success of HIV program planning and to monitoring of the response to epidemic
as a whole, but is quite often missing. In this study, our aim was to estimate the population size of MSM in Tbilisi, Georgia and compare it with other estimates in the region.

HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STI) testing rates among men who have sex with men (MSM) in Estonia are low. We collected data from 265 MSM in a national, online survey. Lifetime HIV testing was related to risky sexual behaviors and contacts with health care services, while lifetime STI testing was related only to contacts with health care services. In addition, some personal values were significant predictors of testing. For example, high achievement (personal success through demonstrating competence according to social standards) had a negative impact on lifetime HIV testing, and high interpersonal conformity (avoiding upsetting others) had a negative impact on lifetime STI testing. The results demonstrate the need to develop gay-friendly health services and to recognize the role of personal values and individual differences in values when designing attractive interventions to increase HIV/STI testing rates among MSM.

The HIV epidemic continues to grow in Tajikistan, especially among people who inject drugs, sex workers, men who have sex with men and incarcerated populations. Despite their susceptibility to HIV,
members of these groups do not always have access to HIV prevention, testing and treatment. The purpose of this study was to identify and understand the gender constraints in accessing HIV services for key populations in Tajikistan. Using focus-group discussions and key informant interviews the assessment team collected information from members of key populations and those who work with them.

Men who have sex with men (MSM) continue to be at higher risk for negative health outcomes including
HIV, STIs, depression, substance use, suicidality, and anxiety. Associative relationships between homonegativity (internal and external) and these outcomes are used to explain the observed disproportionate impact.

UK and international evidence suggests that the prevalence of drug use, relative to that in the general population, is high among young adults, ‘clubbers’ (those who frequently use the night-time economy and dance venues/nightclubs) and lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) populations, and men who have sex with men (MSM*) in particular. This document focuses on LGBT populations and is intended to guide improved service and treatment planning. It describes patterns of club drug use among these sub-populations, as reported in the literature. It looks at the factors that may impact on the use of substances in LGBT populations and discusses drug-related and other harms associated with drug use among these populations, including high-risk sexual behaviours.

: Men who have sex with men (MSM) are a risk group for new HIV infections. Drug use among men who have sex with men is often accompanied by risky sexual behaviours. Local AIDS help centres and gay advice centres are recording an increase in drug use among MSM clients in Germany. This study examines reasons for drug use and drug use contexts for MSM, including syndemic factors and experiences of social support.
Цель исследования – изучение эффективности профилактической работы, информированности и поведения мужчин, имеющих сексуальные отношения с другими мужчинами (МСМ).

Early diagnosis and treatment of HIV infection is critical to improving clinical outcomes for HIV-infected individuals. We sought to characterise the HIV care continuum and
identify correlates of being unaware of one’s HIV infection among MSM in Moscow, Russia
Recent scientific advances have shown that antiretroviral therapy (ART) not only preserves the health of people living with HIV, but also dramatically lowers their risk of transmitting HIV to others by reducing the amount of virus in the body. These developments have transformed the nation’s approach to HIV prevention. By ensuring that everyone with HIV is aware of their infection and receiving the treatment they need, we can sharply reduce new infections in the United States.
