Eurasian Coalition on Male Health (ECOM) is soliciting proposals from individual consultant to write a public statement on actuality about Hepatites among MSM and trans people in Caucasus Region

Background

Eurasian Coalition on Male Health is an international non-governmental association, located in Tallinn, Estonia. We are a membership-based association, open for non-profits and individuals, acting in the field of sexual health, including HIV issues, for men who have sex with men and trans people, in the region of Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia (CEECA).

Mission

We aim to create favorable conditions to ensure that men who have sexual relations with other men and transgender people have access to services in the field of sexual and reproductive health, mainly to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support, based on respect for their human rights.

Description of Services required and Timelines

ECOM is seeking expert assistance to collect and analyze data about Hepatites B and C among MSM and where possible trans people in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia and to write a public statement on the actuality of this issue.

The consultant will (a) summarize existing literature on data about epidemiology of Hep B and C among MSM and trans people in the region (including neighbor countries like Caucasian part of Russian Federation, Turkey, Iran etc., where are active migration processes), existing Hep B and C services and possible linkages with HIV services (interaction between these services and presence of integrated services as recommended by WHO); (b) write a draft of the statement based on previous ECOM documents of this kind.

The consultant would be requested to work in close collaboration with ECOM staff, specifically the Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator to perform the services.

Consultant Qualifications

Essential

  • At least Master’s degree in Social or Medical Sciences
  • At least 5 years’ experience as an analyst/consultant/project manager in social research
  • Experience of social research in public health
  • Experience of LGBT topics research in one or more CEECA countries
  • Effective communication skills in Russian and English, as well as at least one of official languages of target countries

Desirable

  • PhD degree or its equivalent in Social or Medical Sciences
  • Previous working experience with NGOs is an advantage as well

This consultancy is a maximum of 9 working days and will be awarded to her or him that offers a proposal that demonstrates the experience to meet the organization’s needs at a competitive rate and timeline.
