The U.S. Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBTI Persons, Randy W. Berry, made an official visit to Estonia and met the staff and Board members of the Eurasian Coalition on Male Health (ECOM).
Special Envoy Berry and ECOM staff members discussed LGBT- and MSM-related issues in EECA countries, as well as ECOM’s activities. ECOM staff members also shared information about the rights of MSM and about the HIV epidemic among MSM in the EECA region.
In turn, Special Envoy Berry also stated that he follows developments in EECA and has already visited several countries in the region. He will be heading to Kazakhstan, once his visit to Estonia is completed.
The U.S. Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBTI Persons position was established by the U. S. Department of State in April 2015.
