Trans* services mapping
Services provided to the trans* community in the countries of the EECA region.
In our region of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, not all countries recognize trans* people as a key group vulnerable to HIV infection. Even more so, transgender people need assistance, including HIV prevention, as well as trans* transition, trans* health, legal, psychological, and social counseling.
The Eurasian Coalition on Health, Rights, Gender and Sexual Diversity and the Trans* People’s Working Group on HIV and Sexual Health in EECA conducted a mapping of HIV prevention services, as well as other services related to sexual health and the right to health that are provided in our region for trans* people.
Below you will find a list of countries, as well as contacts of organizations and initiative groups, including associations of trans* people and professionalized NGOs, united in working for the benefit of the transgender community. Based on this mapping, we have created a compilation of best practices, which describes the most effective services for trans* people.
