This year marked the end of the term of the current ECOM Steering Committee, elected for the period from 21 December 2022 to 20 December 2025. In accordance with the established procedure, on 16 September ECOM announced the start of the elections for the new Steering Committee and Ethics Committee.

Following the completion of the electronic voting by coalition members, we are pleased to present the results.

New ECOM Steering Committee

According to the Regulations of the Steering Committee, its overall purpose is to ensure adherence to ECOM’s mission and to exercise oversight over the Management Team — the governing body headed by the Executive Director. The primary role of the Steering Committee is to oversee the implementation of the Strategy adopted by the General Assembly.

Based on the election results, the following individuals have been elected to the ECOM Steering Committee for a three-year term, from 21 December 2025 to 20 December 2028 (in alphabetical order):

  • Diana Alieva (Individual Member, Kyrgyzstan)
  • Vitaliy Apanasenko (Youth Public Movement “Partner”, Ukraine)
  • Aidar Kapasov (Human Health Institute, Kazakhstan)
  • Denis Oleinik ( LGBTQ+ group “Coming Out”, Lithuania)
  • Yuliia Famylieva (GO PARTNER, Ukraine)

New ECOM Ethics Committee

In parallel with the Steering Committee elections, ECOM held elections for the Ethics Committee.

The main responsibilities of the Ethics Committee include:

  • supporting the adherence to the ECOM Ethics Code by coalition members, Secretariat staff, sub-recipients and consultants;
  • issuing reasoned judgments regarding violations of the Ethics Code;
  • resolving ethical conflicts between ECOM stakeholders, as well as supporting the resolution of such conflicts between ECOM stakeholders and third parties.

Based on the voting results, the following individuals have been elected to the Ethics Committee for the three-year term from 21 December 2025 to 20 December 2028 (in alphabetical order):

  • Elima Dzhunusova (Labrys, Kyrgyzstan)
  • Michał Pawlęga (Individual Member, Poland)
  • Kirill Presnyakov (Individual Member, Belarus)
