Today we are proudly presenting to you our 2022 report, in which we put together the most important events and achievements from the past year.

The annual report for ECOM is an opportunity to review our work over the whole year, remember important achievements and share them with you.

2022 was not an easy year: our region was engulfed in a large-scale war in Ukraine, which led to changes in the entire region of Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA). But despite this, we continued to fulfill our strategic mission, namely:

“ECOM continued to develop community activism, strengthen the knowledge and skills of partners in relation to the HIV response, and carry out unique research. The past year has shown the resilience of our communities and organizations. We were convinced again that together we can overcome any difficulties, and through common efforts, make the life of every member of the LGBT community better!” says Vitaly Djuma, Executive Director of ECOM, in his opening remarks to the report.

Our most significant achievements in 2022:

We approved a new Strategic Plan for 2022–2026.
From the first days of the full-scale war, we supported the LGBT community in Ukraine: provided humanitarian assistance and targeted support to ECOM members, created a chatbot for information and psychological assistance to LGBT Ukrainians as well as their relatives.
Conducted 5 media and information campaigns.
Provided technical assistance in 5 countries of the EECA region and Jamaica.
We were first in the region to respond to the outbreak of monkeypox (MPOX).
Monitored violations of rights, collected 240 cases in the region.
