On November 29, 2023, Vitaly Djuma, Executive director of ECOM, was appointed an interim Board Member from the Developed Country NGO Delegation to the Board of the Global Fund to Fight HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Vitaly Djuma has been a member of the Developed Country NGO Delegation since 2019 and an Alternate Board Member since 2021. Vitaly has more than 20 years of experience in program development and management, strategic planning, HIV response and human rights advocacy.
"On behalf of the entire delegation, I'm very glad that Vitaly is taking up the position of an Acting Board Member. Vitaly's three years of work as an Alternate Board Member and many years of experience in managing networks of key populations in the region of Eastern Europe and Central Asia are crucial for the effective participation of our delegation in ensuring the implementation of grants based on human rights and inclusive management of country coordination committees," said Beatrice Stickers, who previously held the position of a Board Member from the Developed Country NGO Delegation.
"I'm grateful to the members of the delegation for their trust. It's a great honor for me to lead this group of experienced experts and activists who represent the voices of civil society and communities in how we jointly represent the voices of civil society and communities in the Global Fund," said Vitaly Djuma.
The Developed Country NGO Delegation is one of twenty delegations with the right to vote in the Global Fund board. Members of the Delegation are representatives of civil society organizations based in countries that do not have the right to receive grants from the Global Fund.
