Description of Role:
The role of the consultant will be to develop a training module for the tool “Implementing Comprehensive HIV and STI Programmes with Men Who Have Sex With Men” (MSMIT). The MSMIT training module will be targeted towards MSM community activists and staff members of MSM organizations and will be used for trainings on the MSMIT. Health service providers and other stakeholders involved in fighting the HIV epidemic among MSM in EECA may be included in MSMIT trainings where possible.
Using materials developed for the initial MSMIT training that took place in Bishkek in August 2016, as well as feedback from the training participants, the consultant will prepare a comprehensive training module that addresses all chapters of the MSMIT to be used for future trainings in the region. This module should include:
-PowerPoint presentations for each chapter of the MSMIT;
-Guidebook on the overall training module to assist trainers;
-Standardized form allowing training participants to provide feedback and comments on the training.
All materials should be developed in Russian.
Responsibilities
- Develop the training module materials listed above;
- Cooperate with ECOM representative who will oversee the work of the consultant on this project;
- Liaise with representatives from UNFPA who will provide input on the training module.
Qualifications for the position:
Experience:
Experience in the field of designing or implementing programs on HIV prevention, care and support among MSM and trans* people or conducting advocacy work on behalf of these populations;
Experience developing similar training programs for community members.
Language:
Russian (proficient)
Knowledge, Skills, Attitudes:
Conceptual knowledge of human rights, HIV, STI, sexuality education and other relevant policies of UN organizations;
Good writing and presentation skills;
Proficiency in Microsoft Word & PowerPoint, e-mail and Internet usage.
Competences:
Integrity, valuing diversity, knowledge sharing, communicating info and ideas, conflict and self-management; analytical and strategic thinking.
Remuneration:
To be determined, based on whether the work is completed by one consultant or two consultants jointly.
