The SHAG Consortium is a global collective of five networks working to galvanize the movement to decriminalize homosexuality and channel HIV-related investments into programs for gay men and other men who have sex with men (MSM).

Project targets

In 2023, ECOM will focus on the following areas identified by the consortium:

1. Communication: creating videos on social media for important dates; a series of interviews/podcasts/video interviews with activists in the region for the website and social media; #RightTo campaign.

2. Infrastructure: online webinars on organizational development and human rights for LGBT people in EECA, technical support for ECOM partners on organizational development and human rights; development of ECOM’s annual report.

3. Monitoring & Evaluation: data collection on violations of the rights of gay and trans people in EECA, development of briefs and subsequent advocacy based on the data collected.

4. Leadership development: second regional QUEERathon on capacity building for LGBT youth in EECA followed by a regional media campaign.

5. Social Entrepreneurship: development of ECOM’s strategy for business partnerships.

Project objectives

Development of sustainable tools for gay and bisexual men to increase mobilization and establish movements in four regions of the world.
