2024 began with the addition of new staff members to ECOM’s team. Two new team members joined ECOM in February.
Nazarii Boiarskyi was chosen as ECOM’s new Programs Lead:
“I have worked in the public sector all my adult life, taking part in the development of important initiatives. For me, ECOM is an organization that creates meaning and advocates for its implementation in life, so I am glad to join the team and be part of the positive changes it achieves.”
Nazarii is a human rights activist and informal education trainer. He has been involved in the development of civil society for 17 years and is a trainer for the Youth Affairs Department of the Council of Europe. He has significant experience in developing community initiatives, leading non-governmental organizations, advocating for human rights issues, and implementing educational programs.
Nazarii has a Master’s of International and European Law (Vilnius University, Lithuania) and a Master’s of Psychology (Vasily Stus Donetsk National University, Ukraine).
“As Programs Lead, I want to create synergies between different areas of ECOM's work, so that individuals and projects strengthen each other to create a world where LGBTIQ+ people enjoy all rights and freedoms,” says Nazarii about his new position.
Irina Zarubina is taking a new position in ECOM’s team: Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator.
Irina Zarubina is a monitoring and evaluation specialist and sociologist. She has been working in public health for more than 15 years, in particular in the field of HIV prevention and treatment among key populations.
"ECOM has always been a sign of quality for me. As a sociologist, I have always been interested in the research carried out by ECOM and its analysis of the situation in the countries of the EECA region. Therefore, I wanted to become part of the ECOM team, and to be involved in its work. In addition, I want to use my knowledge, skills and experience for the benefit of the community.
My immediate plans in my new position are to build a monitoring and evaluation system for the organization as a whole, and for projects implemented by ECOM,” says Irina about her plans.
