The Eurasian Coalition on Male Health (ECOM) started preparations for the 3rd Regional Consultation on HIV among MSM and Trans People in Eastern Europe and Central Asia to be held in November 2019 in Tallinn, Estonia.
Currently, ECOM works on the agenda and technical issues related to the organization of the Consultation.
Currently, the goal of the Consultation will be to define the main directions of strategic cooperation in the regional response to the HIV epidemic among MSM and trans people in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA).
Objectives:
- Present the status of regional response to the HIV epidemic among MSM and trans people in EECA and community engagement in this process.
- Analyze the best legislative practices in the context of SOGI and HIV and opportunities of their adaptation in other countries of the EECA region.
- Discuss the acessibility of funding and the sustainability of HIV programs for MSM and trans people.
- Discuss and adopt a regional advocacy strategy to ensure sustainability of the HIV response among MSM and trans people in EECA, in particular through introduction of PrEP and other innovations. Develop recommendations to implement the strategy at the national and regional levels.
While shaping the agenda of the 3rd Regional Consultation, ECOM initiates a survey among community members to identify the topics which are most important and relevant for the countries of the region. You can contribute to the survey here.
