Within the framework of the "Trans*Map in EECA" project, the Eurasian Coalition on Health, Rights, Gender and Sexual Diversity launched a media campaign #мыпохожи (#wearealike) aimed at creating a more positive attitude towards transgender in society. The uniqueness of the media campaign is that it covers the EECA region, concerns trans* people and was filmed by trans* people.
On March 1, the media campaign started on the TikTok platform, where it will last until the end of April. In addition, on March 31, the Day of Visibility of Trans* People, the official launch of the campaign on the Instagram platform will take place.
Work on the campaign started a year ago, in February 2021. To create the campaign #мыпохожи, ECOM's team communicated with trans* activists in the region and conducted focus group discussions in five countries, as well as collected scripts through announcements among queer communities.
The videos and publications of this campaign are aimed at revealing the main message: "Trans* people are the same as cis people, with the same values: happiness, self-realization, the desire to be safe. Yes, trans* people have different experiences, but that doesn't make them/us different in a global context."
